Missouri Pork Association Highlights the Future of Missouri at 2009 Missouri State Fair
Columbia, Mo.,—The Missouri Pork Association will once again be greatly involved at the 2009 Missouri State Fair, to be held August 13 through August 23, 2009. Fairgoers will have many opportunities to learn about the pork industry while enjoying the fun and great food in Sedalia.
For great food, visit the Pork Place, a state fair tradition. Celebrating 30 years of satisfying the appetites of fairgoers, the Pork Place has a new look, a new name, and air conditioning! Menu items include the famous top chop dinner, pork burgers, barbeque pork, smoked barbeque ribs and a classic blt. Guests can read over interesting facts about pork while enjoying a fulfilling meal. Watch for money-saving coupons in the Missouri State Fair Souvenir Program available at entrance gates and at fair information booths. Also, match your admittance ticket number to one of 100 preselected numbers at the Pork Chop Place to win a free top chop dinner and drink!
The MPA will be in the Swine Pavilion sponsoring the Youth Swine Skillathon on Thursday, August 13 and the 4-H/FFA Swine Judging Contest on Friday, August 14. MPA is very active during Youth in Agriculture Day on Saturday, August 22. They also sponsor the 4-H Specialty Pork Demonstrations on Sunday, August 16, beginning at 1:00 pm. Stop by these events and show your support for Missouri’s youth.
If fairgoers are interested in pork recipes and trivia, they can visit the MPA booth located in the Agriculture Building.
