Missouri’s Farmers Want to Give You “Free Groceries for a Year!”
Columbia, Mo.,—On January 11, Missouri’s farmers launched a statewide promotion to give two lucky people free groceries for a year. Missouri residents can visit www.FarmersFeedUS.org for the opportunity to learn more about where their food comes from and register for a chance to win one of two grand prizes.
Upon visiting the site, consumers will be able to register by meeting a Missouri Farmer and learning how they produce safe, nutritious and affordable food. Now until April 11, consumers can register with each of the five featured farmers daily.
“This is a great opportunity for five Missouri farm families to share what we produce with Missouri consumers and to let them know we share their values - taking care of our families, taking care of our animals and land and giving back to our communities,” said Kenny Brinker, a hog farmer from Auxvasse, and one of the farmers featured on the website.
Additional farmers featured on the site include a beef farmer from Maysville, corn farmer from Norborne, dairy farmer from Clever and a soybean farmer from Garden City. Each one guides visitors through the registration process, then offers a brief online tour of their farm.
Throughout the 90-day promotion, these farmers will be featured in advertising and in-store promotions. Missourians can also interact with these and other farmers on their blogs and Facebook pages.
Participating Missouri agriculture groups include the Missouri Pork Association, Missouri Beef Industry Council, Missouri Corn Merchandising Council, Missouri Dairy Growth Council, Missouri Soybean Association, Midwest Dairy Association, FCS Financial, Missouri Agribusiness Association (MO-AG), The Missouri Egg Council, Missouri Cattlemen's Association, MFA, Inc., Monsanto, St. Louis Agribusiness Club and the Kansas City Agribusiness Council.
